Spider-Man
Spider-Man

Spider-Man has fought aliens, mad scientists, billionaire psychopaths, giant lizards, and at least one guy who looked at a Halloween decoration and thought, "Yes... I shall become that."

While Spidey is famous for cracking jokes, many of his enemies absolutely did not understand the assignment. Some are greedy. Some are insane. Others would happily destroy New York just because they woke up slightly cranky.

So let's count down the villains who prove that Peter Parker's biggest superpower isn't web-slinging...

...it's not needing years of therapy.

15. The Lizard

Crime: Turning everyone into giant reptiles.

Dr. Curt Connors started as one of the nicest people in Marvel.

Then he decided, "You know what humanity needs? More scales."

His plans usually involve turning New York into Jurassic Park without any of the educational value.

Evil Rating: πŸ¦ŽπŸ¦ŽπŸ¦Ž

14. Electro

Crime: Weaponized power outages.

Electro has enough electricity to power Manhattan for decades.

Instead, he uses it to rob banks.

Imagine having unlimited energy and deciding your life goal is "annoy Spider-Man."

That's commitment.

Evil Rating: ⚑⚑⚑

13. Mysterio

Crime: Gaslighting as a superpower.

Mysterio doesn't just fight Spider-Man.

He makes Spider-Man question reality.

Then he makes you question reality.

Then he probably sends everyone fake parking tickets just because he can.

If psychological warfare were an Olympic sport, he'd win gold while convincing everyone else they actually came in last.

Evil Rating: 🎭🎭🎭🎭

12. Kraven the Hunter

Crime: Making "touching grass" incredibly dangerous.

Kraven has hunted every animal on Earth.

Apparently that got boring.

So now he hunts teenagers.

Imagine explaining that career choice.

Evil Rating: 🦁🦁🦁🦁

11. Carnage

Crime: Everything.

Carnage doesn't rob banks.

He doesn't conquer countries.

He simply wakes up and chooses violence.

Breakfast?
Murder.

Lunch?
More murder.

Dinner?
Dessert murder.

He's basically what happens if a horror movie became sentient.

10. The Kingpin

Crime: Running organized crime like a Fortune 500 company.

Wilson Fisk somehow convinces everyone he's a respectable businessman despite looking like he benches dump trucks for cardio.

He's not just strong.

He's rich.

Which, in comic books, is somehow even more dangerous.

Evil Rating: πŸ’°πŸ’°πŸ’°πŸ’°

9. The Jackal

Crime: Making clones because regular emotional trauma wasn't enough.

Most villains punch Spider-Man.

The Jackal thought,

"What if I emotionally destroy him for several decades?"

Comic readers are still arguing about clone stories.

That might actually be his greatest crime.

Evil Rating: 🧬🧬🧬🧬

8. Green Goblin

Crime: Making holidays terrifying.

Nobody has done more emotional damage to Peter Parker than Norman Osborn.

He murders.

Manipulates.

Laughs constantly.

And somehow manages to make a flying glider look terrifying.

He's basically Batman's Joker if Joker had a chemistry degree and pumpkin-themed explosives.

Evil Rating: πŸŽƒπŸŽƒπŸŽƒπŸŽƒπŸŽƒ

7. Morlun

Crime: Eating Spider-People.

Most villains beat Spider-Man.

Morlun wants to consume him like an all-you-can-eat buffet.

Imagine discovering you're on someone else's meal plan.

No thanks.

Evil Rating: 🩸🩸🩸🩸🩸

6. Hobgoblin

Crime: Being Green Goblin with fewer family issues.

The Hobgoblin looked at Norman Osborn's life and somehow concluded,

"I'd like some of that."

He stole the gear.

He copied the insanity.

He even kept the creepy laugh.

Originality wasn't really his thing.

Evil Rating: πŸŽƒπŸŽƒπŸŽƒπŸŽƒ

5. Doctor Octopus

Crime: World domination... and incredibly poor workplace safety.

Otto Octavius has genius-level intelligence.

Yet every major plan somehow ends with giant mechanical arms throwing cars through buildings.

He's proof that intelligence and common sense are completely unrelated.

Evil Rating: πŸ™πŸ™πŸ™πŸ™πŸ™

4. Chameleon

Crime: Identity theft on nightmare difficulty.

Anyone can wear a disguise.

The Chameleon makes you question literally everyone you've ever met.

Friend?

Enemy?

Pizza delivery guy?

Could all be Chameleon.

Trust issues sold separately.

Evil Rating: 🎭🎭🎭🎭🎭

3. Venom (When He's a Villain)

Crime: Turning Spider-Man's own powers against him.

Venom knows Peter's identity.

He knows his family.

He knows his weaknesses.

He can sneak up without triggering Spider-Sense.

Basically, he turned Spider-Man's greatest advantages into customer complaints.

Also...

He has approximately 7,000 teeth.

That's excessive.

Evil Rating: πŸ‘…πŸ‘…πŸ‘…πŸ‘…πŸ‘…

2. Kindred

Crime: Psychological torture on a supernatural level.

Kindred didn't just attack Spider-Man.

He dismantled Peter emotionally.

He knew every weakness.

Every regret.

Every painful memory.

Sometimes the scariest villains don't throw punches.

They make you relive your worst decisions forever.

Evil Rating: ☠️☠️☠️☠️☠️

1. Carnage (Yes, Again... Because He's That Bad)

Wait...

Didn't we already rank Carnage?

Exactly.

That's how evil he is.

Carnage would absolutely murder his way onto the list twice just to prove a point.

Cletus Kasady has virtually no redeeming qualities.

He's a serial killer bonded to one of the deadliest symbiotes in Marvel history.

No tragic misunderstanding.

No noble goal.

No sympathetic motivation.

Just pure nightmare fuel with excellent dental coverage.

Congratulations, Carnage.

You've officially won the "Most Likely to Make Spider-Man Wish He Stayed in Bed" award.

Final Evil Rating: πŸ”ͺπŸ”ͺπŸ”ͺπŸ”ͺπŸ”ͺπŸ”ͺπŸ”ͺ

Honorable Mentions

  • Sandman (usually depends on the day)
  • Scorpion (anger management classes unavailable)
  • Rhino (surprisingly lovable for a human wrecking ball)
  • Tombstone (crime with excellent posture)
  • Shocker (Spider-Man bullies him harder than he deserves)
  • Mister Negative (proof that customer service can become a supervillain)

Final Thoughts

Spider-Man may be Marvel's friendly neighborhood hero, but his enemies clearly missed the "friendly neighborhood" memo.

Whether they're unleashing alien symbiotes, cloning everyone, eating Spider-Totems, or simply blowing things up with pumpkin bombs, these villains remind us that Peter Parker deserves hazard pay.

The good news?

Spider-Man almost always wins.

The bad news?

His apartment rent is still due.
