Daisy's legacy didn't end with the original games.
One of the coolest nods to the character comes in DOOM Eternal, where a rabbit can be seen among the Doom Slayer's possessions.
The developers clearly understood that Daisy had become more than an obscure piece of 1990s game lore. She was part of the character.
And this is where things get wonderfully ridiculous.
The Doom Slayer is essentially the most terrifying person in existence. Demons flee from him. Hell fears him. Entire armies have been destroyed because he showed up.
Yet somewhere in his incredibly violent existence is the memory of a little rabbit.
That's actually kind of sweet.
In the middle of all the blood, explosions, screaming demons and heavy-metal chaos, Daisy represents something innocent.
