#1 Watch the Halloween Classics
Obviously.
Halloween without the classics would be like Christmas without someone arguing about whether Die Hard counts.
This is the time to revisit the movies that helped define the season.
Start with the obvious:
Halloween.
Trick 'r Treat.
The Exorcist.
The Texas Chain Saw Massacre.
Night of the Living Dead.
The Thing.
The Shining.
Friday the 13th.
But don't stop there.
If you've watched the usual suspects 47 times, throw something slightly less obvious into the rotation.
Try The Changeling, The Fog, The Burning, The House of the Devil, The Autopsy of Jane Doe or The Taking of Deborah Logan.
And then, naturally, you'll say:
“I'll watch one more.”
Four movies later, it's 3:17 AM.
Halloween is working exactly as intended.
