Most filmmakers would probably be satisfied with creating one beloved holiday horror movie.
Michael Dougherty apparently thought:
"What about Christmas?"
And that's how we got Krampus.
Released in 2015, Krampus took the same basic philosophy that made Trick 'r Treat so successful and applied it to the other major holiday. Instead of Halloween traditions, Dougherty explored the darker side of Christmas folklore.
And what better way to do that than with an ancient horned monster who punishes the naughty?
