13. The Fake-Out Scare
One of horror's oldest tricks:
Something moves.
The music builds.
The character slowly approaches.
The audience braces itself.
The door opens...
CAT.
Everyone relaxes.
Then...
THE REAL MONSTER.
This is the cinematic equivalent of someone tapping you on the shoulder and running away.
And yes, we fall for it every single time.
