4. The It's Probably Nothing Character
Every horror movie needs one person whose primary purpose is to dismiss obvious evidence of supernatural activity.
"Did you hear that?"
"Probably the wind."
"The door just opened by itself."
"Draft."
"There's blood everywhere."
"Probably ketchup."
"The dead guy just sat up."
"Okay, that's weird."
This person can witness Satan himself crawling out of the television and still say:
"Let's not jump to conclusions."
They are usually wrong.
They are also usually dead.
