In Virtuosity, Crowe plays SID 6.7, an artificial intelligence created by combining the personalities of hundreds of violent criminals.
Because apparently the best way to create a safe law-enforcement training program is to put every psychopath imaginable into one computer.
SID eventually escapes into the real world and becomes an extremely dangerous physical threat.
The movie combines AI horror, virtual reality, action and serial-killer movie tropes.
SID is especially creepy because he's not simply an artificial intelligence.
He's basically a digital collection of human evil.
And once he gains a physical body, the distinction between artificial intelligence and human monster becomes almost meaningless.
