There's always somebody who seems suspicious.
They know too much.
They appear at strange times.
They have a creepy smile.
They disappear whenever something horrible happens.
They own an unnecessarily large collection of knives.
And yet someone inevitably says:
“I trust him.”
Why?
Because horror characters apparently don't have instincts.
They have plot requirements.
