#25 The Audience Is Always Smarter Than Everyone on Screen
This is perhaps the biggest thing horror fans have learned to accept.
We know what's going to happen.
We see the monster hiding behind the door.
We know the killer is still alive.
We know the creepy house is cursed.
We know the basement is a terrible idea.
We know the character shouldn't pick up the mysterious object.
We know that noise isn't the cat.
And yet we sit there watching anyway.
Because despite all the stupidity, all the bad decisions, all the questionable architecture and all the suspiciously convenient power supplies...
we love it.
That's horror.
