Dolls (1987)
Dolls is a wonderfully creepy little slice of '80s horror that proves you should never judge a creepy old doll by its porcelain face. The film follows a group of stranded travelers who find shelter in a mysterious old mansion, only to discover that the house's seemingly harmless collection of dolls may be very much alive—and very unhappy.
Director Stuart Gordon fills the movie with eerie atmosphere, gruesome practical effects, dark humor, and plenty of wonderfully twisted doll imagery. It's campy and fun without losing its ability to be genuinely unsettling, making the tiny killers surprisingly effective horror villains.
Verdict: Creepy, imaginative, and delightfully macabre, Dolls is a must-see for fans of killer toys, practical effects, and classic '80s horror. ★★★★☆
