Practicing your social isolation? It would certainly kill the arcades these days (if they still existed). Younger gamers probably never experienced the phenomenon that was the arcade. Vinegar Syndrome Publishing’s Fulci-Based “Zombie” and More [Rue Morgue]

A key facet of Vinegar Syndrome Publishing is its pact with Eibon Press to reissue a number of the latter’s gruesome titles inspired by films from Lucio Fulci et al.

The name of that town is Silent Hill. Although it is known as a scenic resort area, it is a cursed place where the town's former inhabitants were once driven away, brutal executions were once carried out, and a mysterious plague was once prevalent. The town is centered around Toluca Lake, from which a thick fog perpetually enshrouds the area and makes vague the reality and dreams of those who visit the town. And according to those who have seen them, there are also times when "things" that should not naturally exist appear.

Exotic Movie Posters of the 70s & 80s [Horror Land]
The 1970s birthed the beginning of film poster aesthetics that are still very much in use to this day, mostly herald by the growth of home video. We began to see beautiful hand-painted film posters, photographic compositions and textual flares that carefully balanced the movies message.
One of the quickest growing genres at the time was the adult industry, which helped to push VHS ahead of it’s competitor, Beta-Max. With so many films flooding the market, it was important to have the right message and the film posters that were produced were a huge mixture of different qualities. Many embraced erotic art, that gave the scope of love, romance, and intimacy for its viewers.
These poster that were created during the 1970’s and 1980’s are an important part of art history, especially when you understand that more people see films posters than they do actual art, in their lives. People usually spend less than a minute looking at posters, but the very nature of erotic art lends itself to a deeper discussion about the primal nature of our lives. You guys know that I am a slasher flick fanatic and that I take pride in the fact that I have seen just about every one of them, especially the ones that were made in the 80s. While I dig the big ones like Halloween, Friday the 13th, and Nightmare on Elm Street I also love some of the lesser known ones that have somehow flown under the radar that a lot of people aren’t aware of as well. There are a ton of great slasher flicks out there that a lot of people haven’t seen and I feel that it is my duty to shine a spotlight on them so they can finally get the attention that they deserve. A lot of them are very underrated and hold a special place in my heart for a number of reasons, and I think that if you seek them out and give them a shot you will love them as much as I do.

Playtime is Over, Underrated Films with Killer Kids [Horror Obsessive]
Using children in horror tales always helps boost the proportion of peril. By placing an innocent child in danger’s way, the tension is elevated tenfold, but what happens when kids are the danger? Everything in our human programming begs us to protect children, even at the cost of our own lives. So, what happens when adults are placed in the unthinkable scenario of trying to survive violence caused by children? Horror fans win, that’s what.
Horror enthusiasts are more than aware of the big titles in the killer kids subgenre. The Omen’s antichrist incarnate, The Bad Seed’s privileged Rhoda, Gage returning from the Pet Semetary only to kill Judd Crandell, Isacc’s sermons in the cornfields, psychopath Henry Evans in The Good Son, among countless others. Bracing for last week’s release of Changeling horror film There’s Something Wrong with the Children, about two kids that returned changed after spending a night in the woods. I started watching some deep cuts featuring killer kids and thought I’d share a few that don’t always get the attention they deserve.

After the last Top 10 it only seemed fair to offer some balance and assess some horror asses! Judging from the bullets spit last time ya’ll won’t be mad at me for doing so. Fair warning, this week’s list may be a bit more controversial. Linnea Quigley ain’t on it, and sadly, neither is SuperMarcey (though I tried for ya’ll. I really did).
The main question with a list like this is simple yet surprisingly complex – what makes a great ass? Curve, amplitude, where the cleft lies are all important considerations. But there’s also how a woman works it to keep in mind. Plus the indefinable qualities that take some subpar booty’s and lift them above the fray.
You may have figured by this point that I’m a big fan of the back cleavage. Which means I know there’s to be no agreement on a list like this. So have fun with it, spit bullets on the butts you think I must be blind to have left off, and don’t forget if you’re checking this out at work to CYA!!

In System Shock, you’ll take on the role of a resourceful hacker as you explore and survive the terrors of Citadel Station brought on by a rogue AI named SHODAN.
To ensure this reboot is as true to the original as possible, we’ve been collaborating with the original developers of System Shock 1. Understanding what they would do differently and keep the same has helped us to refresh a classic in ways Looking Glass Studios would have.
